Unusual Party Venues Hire Guide

Depending on what your vision is for your party, you can choose from a number of unusual venues in London. Here are some of our favourites:

  • With a view – We all know how beautiful London is, especially from above. A party with a view is definitely going to be a crowd-pleaser. If you choose this option, make sure the weather is appropriate for being outside on a terrace or on a boat. You can also pick a venue that is heated. After all, you don’t want your guests getting cold.
  • Historical – Picking a historical venue for your party kills two birds with one stone. You will not only provide an unforgettable night to your guests but also support London's historical heritage. You'll find the biggest concentration of grade I and grade II listed buildings in Westminster, Mayfair and Covent Garden.
  • Unique interior design – Want to feel like you've been transported back to the roaring twenties or the disco-loving seventies? No need to look for a time machine, because there are many venues styled in a theme of another decade. Spice up your party by introducing a dress code and voilà, you've travelled back in time!
  • Multipurpose – London has an abundance of theatres, cinemas, art galleries, industrial and underground spaces. Why not transform these into your dream party venue? It is even possible to hire a double-decker or an old tube carriage for an absolutely unusual event.

Here are some of our favourite quirky locations you should consider before choosing your favourite venue:

  • City of London – The financial district is home to many interesting and unusual venues. Many venues have their own themes, such as outer space or the Victorian era, and alluring underground spaces.
  • Shoreditch – It’s full of hip places with a quirky vibe for you to choose from. There are cool cocktail bars and reimagined industrial spaces on every corner!
  • Battersea – This area is also known for its industrial venues; including its iconic Battersea Power Station. It’s the perfect destination for an unusual party or a live music event. Just decorate with your preferred theme and you're ready to go!

Booked The Decantery at Six Storeys on Soho
Assigned staff member on the night was incredibly helpful - even playing along with the ruse of the surprise so my Partner had no idea! Always patient in serving everyone. Made the entire night feel relaxed & fun. Organising surprise parties is stressful and Six Stories made the entire thing a breeze

Booked The Terrace at Doggett's Coat and Badge
Amazing Staff, Mike and the rest of the team were simply amazing & they made sure everyone was catered and looked after. Great quality if drinks behind the bar, an array of crafts such as Beavertown Neckoil, Gamma ray etc. Doggetts is definitely keeping up with the trends. Amazing View of the River Thames and great amenities. We will definitely return and recommend this venue.

Booked Backroom at The Cavendish Arms
Shirley and the staff were fab. If you are looking for a quirky, fun, flexible venue to hold your event, then look no further. We had a brilliant comedy / cabaret event, helped by David (MCing) and Shirley to put together, followed by Djs until late. Would recommend if you have a budget, it is perfect for this. The team are doing something special here, like a little oasis in the middle of Stockwell.

Booked The Blue Room at Dirty Martini St. Paul's
Daughter and friends had a great time on 23 March. They thought the food was great, loved the cocktails and enjoyed the music and the dance floor. We popped in briefly towards the start of their evening, just to make sure all was going well. The manager came and introduced himself, which we appreciated, but the DM staff clearly had everything well in hand so we didn’t feel the need to stay. Female bar tender up in the party room went out of her way to make sure the birthday girl was comfortable being in charge of a bar tab, taught her how to mix her own birthday cocktail and was generally "just amazing".

Booked Pirates Cave at Sugar Cane
Music was at a good volume, very ideal for conversation, and the playlist was full of good songs. We'd booked the Pirates Cave which had very cool and original decor, and no deposit was needed to book it! Drinks were very good and fairly priced.
