The Room is a fantastic multi-purpose space that can be used for dinners, meetings, conference spaces, workshops, talks as well as parties, concerts and music events.

The Room provides a unique setting, a combination of the original church structure framed by modern glass and white walls. Its high ceilings, original arches, a stained glass window and fascinating history provide a wonderful atmosphere. Though fairly large, the space has a cosy feeling, suitable for smaller groups. Adjacent to the nave is the annex which is a perfect break out space, reception or refreshments area.

The space is equipped with a lectern, uplighters, flip charts and an upright piano. It benefits from fast WIFI, a Bose professional sound-system, an HD laser projector and wireless microphones.

Cancellations within 24 hours after booking confirmation will receive a full refund. This excludes events starting within 48 hours.

Cancellations 30 days in advance will receive a full refund.

Cancellations 30 days to 7 days in advance will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations for events starting within 7 days are non-refundable.

Rules of the space

- No Red Wine. Throughout the venue, red wine is not permitted due to the white
stone floors of the Nave and the carpeted interior of the Bedouin Tent.

- No Smoking (including outside areas, and entrance ramp). Smoking
(including e-cigarettes) is strictly not permitted in any part of the courtyard garden
or side ramp, as well as inside.

- No Helium Balloons

- No Confetti/Streamers/Petals These decorations, and similar, are prohibited in
all parts of the venue inside and outside.

- No blu tack

- No Candles inside Tent or Inner Courtyard Candles are permitted in the outer
courtyard and other areas when in a container higher than the flame. They should
not be placed near/under plants or in thoroughfares.

- No Shoes inside Tent We kindly ask all guests and organisers to remove their
shoes before entering the Bedouin Tent.

- No Alcohol inside Tent. Alcohol may be consumed in all other areas, with the
exception of red wine. Alcohol is not permitted on site during government pandemic restrictions.

- Set-up and clear-up time is included in the booked slot. The space will not be
accessible before this time.

- The space must be left as found.

COVID-19 NOTES:

If you book an event on a date where government pandemic restrictions are not expected to be in force, but then these restrictions are reintroduced or are still in place come that date and we can longer host you, St. Ethelburga's will provide a full refund minus a 5% admin fee.

The venue was fantastic for the vibe of my event. The lighting Wass great and the staff on hand were super helpful and friendly. Im already considering throwing another event there later this year

It would have been nice if the dj could be set up on the main stage area, as opposed to tucked away by the entrance. No other complaints

-Loved everything about the venue. -Loved the care taker on the day - Very helpful with all requests - space to wash up and clean up - Separate space for my photo-booth - Beautiful venue - Staff helped sweep up after. - Venue was very easy to clean.

The venue was great, warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful staff on both occasions we visited.

The microphone didn't work too well so we abandoned it! Sound was cutting out. The guy on duty offered to try and sort it out but we decided to go ahead without it as it was a small group and we could hear ok anyway. The location is great although a but quiet on Sundays and hardly anything nearby to even get a coffee! We had visited mid week and found it buzzing so didn't realise it would be so quiet on Sundays!

This is a truly inspirational location for a gathering, event or roundtable. Because the organization focuses on peace and reconciliation, it provided the perfect setting for a discussion around gender equity and intentional gender bridge building, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing. The staff was very helpful and engaged. We look forward to being there again.

About St. Ethelburga's Centre

The location is a stunning venue situated near Liverpool Street. It provides a fantastic combination of intimacy and grandeur with original 14th-century arches providing the backdrop to the main space. Destroyed by an IRA bomb in 1993, it has been rebuilt with modern features and offers a unique and memorable space for any event. It is equipped with fast WiFi and has an in-house projector and sound system available in the main space.

The Bedouin Tent is a circular space, ideal for meetings and away-days, intimate gatherings and workshops, while the Nave offers a spectacular space for larger events.

We can offer catering from light refreshments right up to a fully staffed service. Or, for if you are an individual or small charity, simply bring your own and use our kitchen.

This is a place like no other!
